Student Services Projects

SS has been working on transitions new programs, as well as finding the best way to support existing programs. Many of you have come and seen us over at the DO, for those who have not we are located just passed enrollment and to the right.
This website is also new, it is currently still under construction, and we will be adding to it everyday. The hope is that it will become a comprehensive support hub for all things Student Support Services.
1. PRESS program: ESD and student services have been hard at work on transitioning out students who were in the county program for expelled youth back to MHUSD. These students will be housed at the Adult Education Center. There they will be working on completing the required credits to graduate, as well as their rehabilitation plans. (Value: Embrace Diversity)
2. Safety Plans: We met this week to vet out a new online doc-tracking program that will help ensure that all the safety plans are in line with the legal updates as well as easier for principals to update year to year. It also will allow for all of our plans to be the same format, helping outside stakeholders better support a site in the case of an emergency. (Value: Promoting Safety and Inclusion)
3. Attendance: Thank you to the sites who submitted their SARB/Truancy letters for the no show students. If you have not done so already, I need a scanned copy of those. The exception is SPED students please wait till Friday to archive them (Per the direction of the Micheal Vogal). We are working with the DA to update our SARB letters and processes. Stay tuned. (Value: Be present, Focus on Achievement)
4. Professional Development Day (Oct.): ESD and SS have been working with the county BH services to bring a comprehensive overview and training on supporting students who are suicidal or have suicidal idealizations.
5. Alternative Education and Central application process: We have been working with SPED and Central to develop a more comprehensive process for students who want to apply to Central (credit recovery) or the MoHila Program (traditional IS and daily digital program).

6. Discipline: Professional development around data entry will be presented to all school secretaries this month. Training will be coming for expulsion.
7. SLS: working on developing a comprehensive list of resources and services available in our area. We are also hard at work ensuring that our MOUs and agreements are in place to ensure we can continue with programs that were successful last year.

Care

The care team has been hard a work ensuring that all of our McKinney-Vento kids are tagged and are getting the services they need. They also made an appearance at all the school sites for first day of school! This year we are working on being able to provide consistent services to all the sites, please see below the calendar that will tell you when the care team will be on your site. (Value: Nurture Community, promoting safety and inclusion)

PBIS

PBIS training dates

All of the sites have had a chance to meet and discuss goals and actions for the 2018-19 school year and and how they are going to implement and continue their work around PBIS. Many of our sites were awarded honors from PBIS and we look forward to celebrating those successes. If you have any questions or need support please don't hesitate to reach out to Michele Bergeron. (Value: Promote Safety and inclusion, think critically)
