ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH

As you know September is ATTENDANCE AWARENESS month and boy do we have some surprises for you! As we continue our journey of creating a positive attendance culture we want to ensure that you are recognized for the hard work and efforts!

The first event of the month is a bit of a competition amongst fellow Attendance Clerks. At the end of September, we will be hosting an attendance awareness luncheon where all the winners will be announced so mark your calendars for 
​Sept. 30th from 11 AM - 1PM

Survivor
We have a series of challenges and at the end of each one you will receive a ping bong ball that you will write your name on. At the end of the month luncheon, we will do a reverse raffle! The more ping pong balls you have in the mix the better chance you have of being a survivor and winning some prizes! 

The challenges are as follows:
​Challenge 1: Having positive attendance growth every day- meaning if you have 501 students present on Monday, and 502 on Tuesday, 503 on Wednesday...and so on, you will get a ping bong ball at the end of the week. This will happen every week!
​Challenge 2: Having above an average of 95% attendance at the end of the week, this will happen every week as well!
Challenge 3: Have all your truancy notices ran and uploaded to the shared drive before you leave on Friday- each week!
Challenge 4: An overall improvement of 1% (and each increment of one will be an additional ping bong ball)- at the end of the month.

As you all know the hard work of attendance cannot just fall on the attendance clerks- the whole school needs to be involved and helping promote positive school attendance. our second challenge is for the school sites!

The challenges are as follows:
Challenge 1: The school site with the best attendance at the end of the month will win an attendance trophy and a banner to hang at their school site- the trophy and banner will be passed on from year to year to whichever schools show the best attendance in the month of September. 
Challenge 2: The school site with the most improvement at the end of the month will win a most improved trophy and banner to hang at their school site- the trophy and banner will be passed on from year to year to whichever schools show the best attendance in the month of September. ​​

Safety Plans, RHD training, and crisis teams oh My

Just a reminder that when you complete a drill, you need to submit the feedback form for it. Above is the link, it was also emailed to you. 
A big shout out to all the sites who have completed their safety plans, drill schedules and crisis teams! If you have not gotten those items or are still waiting for the RHD training, no worries, just make sure you get them to me as soon as possible.

Run Hide Defend Training Completed: JAMM, Britton, Live Oak, Central, Adult School, Nordstrom, Los Paseos, Walsh and SMG!
Crisis Teams Submitted: Britton, Nordstrom and Los Paseos.

Chronic Absenteeism Rates
We continue our journey in reducing out chronic absenteeism rates. You will be getting a break down of all the kids who are foster, homeless, and low SES that are already chronically absent. This list will help you provide targeted and strategic interventions for these students and sub groups.
