Coordinated Advocacy & Resources for Education
​

We are committed to provide direct and specific support to students
in protected populations to increase engagement, connectedness to
school and community, to improve educational outcome.


You are guaranteed enrollment in school by the federal McKinney-Vento Act

and California state law if you live:


In a shelter (family, domestic violence, or youth shelter or transitional living program)
In a motel, hotel, or weekly rate housing
In a house or apartment with more than one family because of economic hardship or loss
In an abandoned building, in a car, at a campground, RV park, or on the street
In temporary foster care or with an adult who is not your parent or guardian
In substandard housing  (without electricity, water, or heat)
With friends or family because you are a runaway or an unaccompanied youth


Services CARE can assist with:

Transportation

Nutrition

Backpacks/ totes

School Supplies

Clothes And more!

How we do It?

We have CARE counselors in each high school and one middle school that provide targeted counseling to students covered by the McKinney-Vento act.
We have a Mobile Team that provide Academic Mentoring to students from 4th to 12th grade. 
Mobile Team collaborates with the School Linked Services Coordinator to connect families with local resources.
Mobile Team assist families in need to enroll in free/reduce lunch and transportation.
Mobile Team provides backpacks and or school supplies to students in need.
