Nurturing Community
The George Flores Conference was held this last weekend (Oct. 5th) at Live Oak High School. Although the turn out was not as high as we had hoped the sessions that were presented were useful!

Thanks to the counselors and admin who helped promote this conference!
Safety and Inclusion
Bully, bullying, being bullied, oh my! Student Services has been working with Special Education on developing a "safety plan" for kiddos who are being bullied. It is a work in progress, so please use it and give us your feedback.

What is new?
Our Academic Mentoring is moving, we are working in small groups with students 4th to 8th grade. At the high schools we are doing individuals check ins.
We participated in the George Flores Conference, workshops were very informative, parents and student were pleased and motivated.
We have some new students that were in need of backpacks we provide them with backpacks and school supplies.
We also attended the San Martin Gwinn Distribution Event last week where the bookmobile from the Santa Clara County Library department was present with great success. We were informed  that they will keep attending to this food distribution and the Food  Distribution at P. A. Walsh.
