Promote Safety and Inclusion
  • Safety Plan Training is coming up using the new Software, so hold tight as soon as it is pushed through I will be able to reach out to all of you and schedule a training. Our hope is that with the new software DocTracking it will expedite the time for you as well as make it more user friendly.
  • Many of you have had or are scheduled to have your run, hide, defend training with SRO Adams, if you have not scheduled something please do so and include me in the email. Once you have completed your training please scan over the agenda and sign in sheets to me.
  • October 18th at 10:18 AM is the Great California Shake Out drill. Please put this on your calendar as we will all be participating in this.
Focus on Achievement
Embrace Diversity
Think Critically and Nurture Community
We are hosting the George Flores Conference at Live Oak high school on Oct. 6th for High School students and families that are identified as "at risk". We gathered input from students and LO to determine what kinds of sessions they would be interested in. We will be having sessions on Learning and the brain, FASFA, A-G, etc.

 Be Present
  • We are updating our SARB, SART, and Truancy (oh my!) processes and procedures. I went around and met with a variety of your attendance clerks to see what they are doing well, what we can improve on, and what is not working at all. I got lots of great feedback. Training with all attendance clerks will be upcoming.  There are many shifts in attendance as we move from chronic truancy to chronic absenteeism.
Nurture Community
  • We will be hosting a series of attendance parent information meetings. The first one will be September 20th, and 5:30 PM.
  • October 9th there will be presentation with the SRO and Student Services on VAPEing at 6:00 PM at the DO.
  • Principal's Challenge! How many of you are hosting activities like "coffee with the principal", or "get to know the principal?" If you are please send me some dates, and if you are not maybe take some time to plan this, it builds community and school capacity.

Upcoming:

9/13: 6- Adult leadership meeting at DO
9/14: SS and SRO home visits (if you need us to do a home visit please reach out and let me know).
9/25: Parent Attendance Info night at the DO @ 5:30 pm.
