Student Services Projects

FOCUS ON ACHIEVEMENT

Short term independent student is a positive way to ensure that students do not accumulate unexcused absences, don't miss out on curriculum, and ensure we are collecting ADA. In an effort to tie up lose ends and have a common process and procedure district wide we have updated the forms and process. Please be sure that the new process is followed, we will not be accepting the old forms.
Highlights:
  • It is electronic
  • If the short term IS is going to be less than 10 days, the principal can approve it and it does not need to go to student services.
  • Anything over 10 days needs to be approved by student services.
  • The process takes a minimum of 1 week to complete- plan ahead.
  • ALL independent study needs to be approved by the principal or designee.
  • A student can go on IS for 5-25 days.
  • All IS contracts need to be attached to the monthly attendance report.

Reminder: Schools in Tier 2 or Tier 3,  please contact me to set up a date for all of your staff (Certificated and Classified) to complete the SAS (Self Assessment Survey). This should take about 15 minutes to complete.  This survey is used by the school staff for initial and annual assessment of effective behavior support systems in your school. We need to complete this before your next training date.
Schools that have completed all 3 Tiers of training. I suggest that you also complete this SAS survey to show your fidelity of implementation of all Tiers.
Please either email me at [email protected] or call me at Ext. 51091 to set up a date. I will then send you a link for the survey.
